The biggest lie is revealed in The Biggest Secret - By David Icke.

That people are different in nature and value.

That's the lie that has been said through the ages, and up to this date. That's the lie said through religions and politicians.

"The bigger the lie, the more people believe it"--Adolf Hitler

What was the biggest lie back then? "Jews are the enemy".

Most recently, the biggest lie I have heard is this. I have heard folks say that if illegals didn't work certain jobs in America, then nobody would do them at all. You want to know the truth? Americans would do them and the wage would be much much higher because corporations would be forced to pay Americans at least a decent wage because there would be no illegal workforce competing for those jobs. Right now, shady businesses are benefitting from unlawfully hiring a workforce that has no right to be here in the first place. It supresses wages down to nothing. Quite simply, with illegals here, Americans can't AFFORD to take those jobs. Thanks to illegals, employers pay minimum wage or even much less (illegally) for those jobs.

The biggest one i've heard is perpetrated by the organized religions of the world. They're the man behind the curtain espousing a distorted worldview among the masses. The reason it is ranked a big lie is that 80% of the earth's population has succumbed to it.

Hopefully I can pre-empt all of the responses along the lines of "Jesus was the son of God" or "there is no God" or any other answer dealing with your personal religious beliefs. We ALL KNOW that you are right and everyone else is telling lies. How about we dig a little deeper than that and try to give decent answers that aren't based on starting a holy war on this person's question?
On that note, mine would be "I love you", both told to someone and been told by someone as lies

My ex was smoking behind my back and every time he'd come home smelling of smoke I'd ask him "have you been smoking" and he ~actually~ told me
"No, I walked through the break room today with my mouth open"
