The law says the post office can only sell stamps at face value, but a stamp dealer can charge anything the customer is willing to pay. The same is true of a convenience store.

Good question. Yes it is legal. You are paying the merchant for the service, not just for the stamp.

BTW stamps.com is a website which is approved by the US Postal Service to sell special type stamps. These include photo stamps and university stamps. You will pay almost $1.00 a piece for a regular .39 stamp. Hope this helps.

no they cannot mark up the price of stamps. only can be sold at face value. look up the 1800 price gouging number and report them
