Dear, I know from my experience how confusing could be the comparison between the foundations' colour.
First there is one rule that is applying to ALL BRANDS, never mind that they have written the colour in particular ( for e.g. teint beige, chocolate, peach, etc) it significantly differ from one to another. Always before buying a foundation test it, while applying a small quantity of it, on your hand and your chin and neck in daylight. Those are the right places to see is the colour matching and you found it suitable. That is a practice in quite every beauty store or get some free samples and try at home.
Natural beige is supposed to be lighter than Buff beige, but again we reach the issue with the different brands. Sometimes nude beige as colour for foundation is better, naturally looking than the "beige" tones.
I like and use some brands and will give you the link to my favorite, please, click on the foundations and see the available colours and see the difference. www.cover.girl.com, www.sephora.com or manhattan.cosmetic.com
Hope that is of help.
Have a great time!

Buff is darker, but in some cases with different brands I've seen buff beige lighter than natural.

Buff is lighter in every brand I've ever seen! That's what I wear! I wear natural in the summer when I've gotten a little sun.

Yes, generally buff is darker than natural. The order tends to be nude (or porcelain), natural and then buff for lighter colored skin.

Here's an idea : Why not USE YOUR EYES!?
If you know the color you have now, go to where you buy your makeup and visually compare them! You can get a general idea of the differences in the packaging. However, to get a final judgement on the color, compare them on your face (not your hand or wrist) and be sure to look at them in the same light. (sunlight is the best)
If you're still lost, ask one of the beautiful ladies behind the makeup counter (in just about any major department store). I'm sure they'll have much more experience and information than most of the relpies you'll get on here...
Good luck.
:)

A dark brown, or gold color would bring out your eyes the most. Or even better a dark brown on the top and gold on the bottom.
