The religious leaders in Iraq are political, have an army, fight for thier belief. I do not get it if we twisted the current governments arm to write the constitution the way we wanted and MR. President Bush aproved the whole thing with quite a celibration if I remember how did the religion get in?

I am not sure what you are asking here. The only separation of church and state in the US is the prohibition on Congress to create a Federal Religion. The phrase "separation of church and state" is not part of the constitution. The idea that there can be no connection whatsoever between a government entity and religion; ie; prayer in school, has absolutely nothing to do with the constitution. This is carried to ridiculous extremes such as banning Christmas displays on government property when Christmas is a Federal Holiday, designated as such by President U.S. Grant.

The U.S. was founded upon freedom of (or from, depending if you believe in God) religion. The Constitution prohibits favoring one religion over another and the Government can't sponsor a state religion. All of these allow everyone in the U.S. to worship any deity they want without fear of state retrabution.

i'm not positive, but i think you're talking about the new constittution in Iraq, and if i'm not mistaken they ARE a muslim nation, and arent trying to keep their religion and politics apart.

as far as the idea of separation of church and state, (which should be "State FROM Church"), the idea was to keep them apart so as to not favor any one group of people, but our government doesnt do that very well, as they took christian holidays and made them legal holidays. i dont really care, but if you want to look at it from an "all men are created equal" standpoint, then you should treat all the religions equally, and celebrate them all, or none of them.
