I don't have any personal experience with Survey Mountain. The business model it looks like they have (I didn't read through the terms of service and privacy policy, though--you should before signing up) is referring you to other survey companies (which usually will get them a commission). That's not necessarily bad. I do something similar on my site (I have a site reviewing surveys--some of them offer affiliate programs, and I make commissions off those). There are many good survey sites which do offer commissions for referrals, either through links or by e-mail.

But there are lots of scummy survey sites out there too. Be careful so you don't get scammed. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. Remember, if you sign up with a referral site like Survey Mountain, you can't just read their terms and privacy policy...you need to read the terms of service and privacy policy of EVERY survey site you sign up for through their site. If in their privacy policy the site says they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Generally, you should avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam). In the case of a referral company you may want to let them give some info out to other survey companies so they can refer you--but make sure its given out for that purpose and not given out in any other way.

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site you might find helpful:

I have been doing surveys for over a year now, my trick is to join more than one site that pay you in cash for your time and effort..I don't need points or entries into sweepstakes and to try to be helpful, I will share a link that I found and used from a similiar question on Yahoo Answers!
Also if you are looking for "data entry" just scroll down the link till you see "data entry"
