I was cutting wood with a chainsaw, my hand was in a cast as if it were broken, I cut through the cast and cut my hand off. Very calmly I walked inside and put my hand in an ice bucket and wanted to go to the hospital, only to pull my hand back out and only the tips of my fingers were cut off. And I was okay with the tips of my fingers being gone.

I think your dream means you're trying or have cut off ties with someone you were close with. Your hand in the cast shows that the relationship was already deteriorating and cutting it off was making that definate decision to end it. You don't feel too much remorse and feel like you can handle it by yourself (hand in ice) and in the end the problem didn't seem as bad or too big of a sacrifice. (Only the fingertips were missing).

Dreaming of yourself being cut off could mean you feel something which is imperfect of you. You subconsciously feel that something broken can be mended.
