What is it with Europeans (alot, not all) and their love for flopping in football matches?

Holy crap. I watched the U.S. (they sucked, I know) play European teams and I saw the craziest flopping/ acting of my life from European teams. Goofy goofy crap the the refs fell for. Unbelievable. The worst offenders were the usual time wasters- Portugal and Italy especially. Every time those guys flopped for some goofy reason, a ref would hurry as fast as he could to give another yello (or red) card. Good lord, there was alot of carding in the World Cup. It actually took a bloodied and broken nose (U.S.- McBride?) for an Italian player to get carded. Sometimes I wonder about the legitimacy of the international game.

Isn't that how the Italians defeated the Australians in the World Cup 2006? I missed that match, but I was told that one of the Italians flopped in order to get a penalty shot.

I think that this happens; it's just part of the game, but it is sad that people need to cheat like this. It does waste time, and creates great controversy. I suppose that so many players resort to it that viewers have just got to put up with it.

Thats why I hate when the US plays euro team. Acutally, its not only euro teams, asain teams and south american teams flop alot also, not as much as europeans though. In general, being unbias, the US teams flops quite often, but this is because every other team does and gets away with it.

I don't know, why don't you ask them? Let them do what they want, it's not our problem. Life ain't always fair, what can I say. Besides, sometimes it makes the game interesting.

And this is coming from a USA supporter, by the way.
