I'm in a master's program now, but want to apply to a poli sci phd program and can't find many decent schools that will accept a fair amount of my master's work. Most schools only accept 6 credits or whatever, which really seems like a waste of my time to retake a lot of the classes i took for my MA. Know any schools that will at least give me credit for 24 credits or more?

Unfortunately, most doctoral programs require you to take foundation courses and not transfer in coursework from your masters program. A PhD program is a lot of work -- so, if you are not willing to consider the amont of coursework you need to do, then you're never going to be ready when you have to write your dissertation and do your research. The only time I've seen transfer credits from a master's program is when the PhD is at the same institution. Good luck with your decision.

You don't have to retake any classes -- you can take different ones.

If taking more classes is a problem for you -- then you aren't really cut out to get a PhD.
