I use McAfee Internet Security Suite and haven't had any problems with viruses, plus it warns you if someone is trying to make unauthorized changes to your computer. I've had bad experiences with Norton products.

Use the Anti-Virus program that should be installed on your computer.
If you don't have one on your computer (suprisingly many people do not) then go here and run the free online scan and removal.

If you are looking for a freeware solution, then you can look up Avast:
http://www.avast.com/
or Antivir:
http://www.free-av.com/
I particularly don't like Symantec because it takes up so many resources. But of course, you get more protection than you would with a freeware source (Which isn't to say that the freeware ones are bad. They are almost as good as Norton, but they don't include all of the things that come with the package, such as firewall and ad and spyware checkers. Of course, there are freeware resources for that too.)

Are you sure it is a virus - or is it adware? There is plenty of software around to deal with this, as advised by others above, but once your PC is 'clean', avoid going into dodgy websites.
