Cerberus was a huge fierce three-headed dog guarding the gates of Hades, the world of the dead.
Ares was the god of war, but he was not very fierce and the name is not very scary (actually many greeks are called Ares and the connotation with the god of war has vanished).
Typhoon was a scary giant or something - hence the modern meaning of the word.

Thanatos was death, Cerberus has been mentioned repeatedly, Hephastos or Hephasteus was the God of fire--though he wasn't generally known as the foreboding evil God but rather a nice guy. Ares was the God of war (and he liked to use the skins of people killed in battle as the sheets for his bed, sounds fairly foreboding to me).

You might switch to different mythology, like the old Viking deals. Thor was known for his strength and used lightning as a weapon. Odin got ticked off regularly and killed for the fun of it. Loki is their version of the Devil, who would always go around causing problems (including eventually an Armageddon-like situation that ends with the death of the Gods, Giants, and Demons of Hell) with lies.

Well, I would skip the "god's" part and go straight to hell. By that I mean name the little booger after Cerebrus, the huge three headed dog that supposedly guarded the gates thereof. At least the name will be in the same family, so to speak.

Looks like a lot of people are going with Cerberus. Make sure you spell & pronounce it right, though, or it won't be as effective! From Dictionary.com - here's the pronunciation:

Cer‧ber‧us  Pronunciation [sur-ber-uhs]
