i keep getting these calls, from what i assume is a business. they come every 2-5 minutes or so. anyway...when i answer, it's a series of beeps. i'm wondering if this is a fax number??? i tried calling information and they tell me they don't have a reverse directory so i can't find out who it is that way. when i look online, it tells me it's unlisted. what the heck do i do? i need this to stop.

It sounds to me like somebody tried to send a fax and keyed in your number by mistake. Fax machines are set to keep trying until the fax goes through. It will only try for a certain number of times before giving up entirely.

Type the number into Google and see if it comes up with anything.

Do you have access to a city directory? Things in it are listed by address, names, and phone numbers, all three..so if you know any of the above you can find what you are looking for.

Or, change your phone number and get it unlisted..

I'm assuming you did call the number to have telemarketers stopped...

Change your number... or add the number to your phone book and set the ring to silent.

call up your service provider and tell them to change your number.. it should be free.. if not you can try to add your number to the national do not call registry..
