My city is most famous for the tallest tower in the world. The CN Tower! Yup! I'm from Toronto, Canada. This has showed the world that anything is possible as long as you have a goal and you don't give up. It shows how far man has gone. One day, there's probably going to be a tower even taller.

The Village I live in was originally a Roman and Viking Settlement.
2 Miles up the road is a Norse 'Thing' or 'Ting' (Meeting place of the elders) and was the most important and largest outside of their home nation. Several of the places within 10 miles of my home, are noted as historical locations for famous Roman/Viking Battles.
Wirral was also a Royal Deer Hunting Ground (Restricted Access) at some later date in history.

In WWII we had the control centre for 'The Western Front' and Lancaster Bombers Took off from an Airfield Just 2 miles from me, to Bomb Germany on a daily basis. (Nothing Personal, I like German's.) We also had several munitians factories as well.

Mintcake - yeah probably the worse thing to be famous for horrible sticky sweet stuff. Helped climbers though. Oh and K Shoes and Clarks shoes Thats Kendal

I live in Wantage which is famous for the birthplace of King Alfred the Great, and was the home of John Betjeman, Thomas Hughes, the Grand National winner 'Maori Venture' and of course, 'Best Mate'.

It's the second-oldest German settlement in my state and the oldest Czech settlement. That, and the award-winning (I'm talking major awards here, not "best on the block") restaurant in town. Not bad for a place way out in the sticks, population 84.
