The Industrial Revolution began in the 1800's with the invention of steam power and several other revolutionary inventions (assembly lines, seweing machines, the cotton gin for example) that chnaged the way humans all over the world lived their lives. Until that time, most people lived and worked on farms. The I.R. began a period of unprecedented population growth, migration to cities, improved life expectancy (for most), improved education, the faster transfer of ideas, ultimately the explosion of technological advances we have seen in the past 20-25 years. It also brought about pollution, child labor, general exploitation of the masses with low wages and poor work conditions). The list goes on and on with pros and cons but that should get you started.

The industrial Revolution BASICALLY was in the late 18th and early 19th century and it started in britain, spread throughout the world, when all manual labour, all work in factories, was replaced with machinary...It began with the mechanisation of the textile industries and the development of iron-making techniques
There is much debate about the dates it really existed in...
But really it was a huge economic change for Britain, because Britains economy was based on this manual labour force
