How long has the tree lived and is it still alive?

I'm going to take a guess here...

Hybrid Poplar trees that are "farmed" for paper products have a rapd and short lifespan.....

I'm going to guess by shortest you do not mean time. The answer to that is one day once my neighbor gets it.

The shortest in height are some bristlecone pine trees in California. Some are 4-5 feet tall and are about 2300 years old and yes they are still alive. And they are protected by Park Rangers.

Many of the acacias (wattles) of australia only live for 6 - 12 years.

They are very fast growing and are often used in revegetation projects
