I don't understand the appeal of someone being "just like me" on tv. I mean, if she's just like me, why don't I have my own show?
Guess I want my celebrities to be a lot more talented than me.
I've watched her show several times, and I'm just not getting it. Or her.

I actually believe that the very thing that makes her appealing, is the thing some people hate about here... she regular. She's not breath taking, she's not extraordinary, she's just a cute cook. I think the thing that makes her so much of a star right now is the fact that she is hustling, and anyone that can't respect that is a flat out hater. If given the same opportunity, most people would take advantage of the exposure that she has been given. The thing is, she was not just given the exposure she worked and was discovered. For years she did her humble show on the Food Network, then people started to tune in, and she developed a fan base, she wasn't given a silver spoon, like Paris, Nichole, or the rest of these publicity whores, who are willing to sell themselves for fame.
I hate the fact that people just can't applaud someone else's good fortune and hard work paying off. Maybe if people as a whole choose to work harder, instead of hating harder, more people would be recognized for doing what they do. Maybe she has two and three shows, because some lazy bum wasn't willing to work hard enough for the shot at one of them. Step your game up, and stop hating, and maybe someday someone will be hating on you.

I like her. I wasn't exactly blessed with the ability to go in a kitchen and whip out a creme brulee. When you watch the other Food Network shows, they're a little hard to follow and very overwhelming if you don't know where your kitchen is in your own house. Her show was different. I felt that she made dishes that I could easily do for my family (and have done for my family, much to their surprise.) Now I watch her talk show and think it's wonderful. Did you see the episode today? Two people were robbed right before they left for their honeymoon. She pretty much reimbursed them for everything they lost. Another show she did was a surprise early birthday party for a guy who won't get to celebrate his birthday with his family because he'll be in Afghanistan. His present from her was 2 laptop computers that have those cameras on them, so that he can talk to his wife and kids and look at them, and they can look at him as well.
So she hasn't had formal training? Big whoop. She's funny, she's witty, she's down to earth, and a lot of people enjoy her shows.

Yes, boring, untalented, overexposed, and too full of herself. She was made that way by Oprah. Believe me I"ve tried some of her recipes and they have ALL been complete busts. I'm a good cook and her recipes are awful. She is just extremly lucky, and I guess she appeals to the 40-50 year old bored housewives who relate to her average-ness.

she's very personable. she's like the nieghbor you've never met. that's why. she's always friendly and gives people tips on quick meals and how to save a buck. the fact that she is not overly attractive makes her more appealing to the audience who probably fits into the same category. personally at times i think she should cut back on the perkiness and her voice is kinda annoying, but other times i find it refreshing.

I absolutely agree!! She's a little too much for 10 am which is when her show is on here and she is more annoying than Rosie on the View.

She received the Oprah blessing. Golden.
Same thing happened to Dr. Phil, another useless, over-exposed, and IMO dangerous individual.

Hahaha. You're a hater! I got news for you, she seems like a regular nice girl next door. She could be your sister, your cool Aunt, your fun girlfriend. THAT is why she is popular, SUCKA!!!
I hate cooking, and I hate cooking shows. But I WILL watch hers if forced and not want to die. That is saying something.

I think the only reason she is famous is because of the middle-aged people thinking she is great for her "THRITY minute meals" and now she is more popular than oprahs show,
do you like oprah better??
