It depends if it is a gas or electric dryer if a old gas dryer it could have a pilot light and you could relight it if it is a newer gas dryer it would have a igniter and it is quite low it could have gotton wet and dirty remove back panel and clean the igniter unplug the unit first!! also if it is a electric dryer it would have a heating element and it also could have gotton wet check and see if it did not short out and clean the elements and check the wires that connect to it also check fuses or breakers..

If you have a gas the diode needs to dry out to ignite the dryer...
If there is no movement at all check the breaker or try on a different plug with extension cord.....It has been known that a circuit can short out a plug in . It should have been on a gfi circuit. Depending on the age of the dryer. If you see water or droplets use a hair dryer to evaporate the water. Some curcuit manufactures have a default if any moister is where it is not supposed to be as a safety issue. If the plug into a different source is a no go. You will need to open the back and look to see if any thing is inundated with water.
If the dryer is electric then you have a big plug into the wall which could be a 30 amp system with two separate breakers...or if you have a fuse system one of the fuses could have blown. Your question is very vague.

The washer works because the motor is 10in. up. The dryer motor is mounted to the base plate. Had you waited a week or two the dryer motor probably would have dried out and worked. The motor is shot. If you can't afford a repairman than a new dryer is out of the question. Check the want adds for a used one.

If it is gas, check the pilot light.
If it is electric, check the circuit panel for a blown circuit that may have shorted out when the water hit the dryer.
And check to see if there is an internal fuse in the back of the dryer that may have gone.

The motor bolts to the bottom of the dryer and is probably shot. I thought I would add that to the other possible causes already suggested.

I've lost two washers in a flood here. Something about the heating unit underneath. My washer survived twice.

Depends on what kind of dryer it is. If it is a gas dryer, maybe the pilot light is out.

Come back with another question > list your make/model for better troubleshooting--gas/electric,etc. Meanwhile I would leave it off.
