(for teachers) I go to private school, and almost everynight we get homework in every subject, and that just doesn't seem fair. I am in 7th grade, and when I tell my mother or my friened who goes to public school what we are studying in school and she says that she has never even heard of that. Why do teachers give so much homework, that is what I want to know.

Your parents pay a premium to send you to private school. You may think that it sucks now that you have all of this homework to do. But when you get to college and you are leaps and bounds ahead of kids that went to public schools, you will thank your lucky stars that your parents cared enough to send you to private schools because you will probably catch on a lot faster than publicly educated kids.

You are already ahead of your public school friend, and you're only thirteen!

It will get better and easier, I promise.

By the way, life isn't fair. School prepares you to solve things in life that aren't fair and prepares you to accept that.

You get so much homework because teachers often do not see the bigger picture. Each teacher has a specific goal in mind for their class and what they want you to learn. Naturally, they have a bias that the information they're teaching is extremely important for you to learn, whether they're a math or science teacher or teach english, art, or social studies. There is no way for them to tell what is important to YOU, and therefore probably do not consider the fact that you have homework in all your other classes as well that are just as important. Either that, or they do not care, figuring that you need to get used to the heavy workload and learn about time management.

I believe it's more important to focus on QUALITY rather than QUANTITY, but unfortunately, many people don't. I also believe in learning the things that are going to be specifically important to YOU as an individual throughout your life, but unless the school is very progressive and has a very good student to teacher ratio, this is impossible.

The best thing for you to do is to just do the best you can for now and keep in mind that once you're free from secondary education, you'll finally be free to study anything you want, at any pace you want.

Hello Ashle! I think you should be happy, because not everybody can go to those kind of schools and, in fact is better just because teachers prepares those homeworks for you. It is very important for you to know that the more you excercise you brain and the less you watch TV... the less will be difficult HSchool for you, and University, and you will be able to be concentrated and to resolve problems, not only while you study, also when you get old... I sure it is really important, don't worry now about that, just do it, and concentrate to get a well done job!! (because that's what makes you not forget that information and loose your time , now and ever) And you'll see the more you concentrate the faster you finish it. You'll see it's not as difficult and boring as you think... good luck!!! (I'm sorry if i made mistakes, I'm from Argentina)

Homework is designed to make you think along select paths consistently. It also takes advntage of an empty mind. When you become older, your brain isn't as able to absorb new information as well, so while it seems like a lot, go with it, the more you get now, the less problems you will have later.

I went to private school all my life... and just graduated college recently. It will better prepare you for high school, college, and the real world... trust me! Smile, the more you know- the smarter you are. In college, I was the one who was tutoring my classmates who were completely lost, while I was breezing through freshman year.
When I was in high school I thought that was a lot of work, until I got to college. Then I thought college was a lot of work. Until I got to the real world... now that's a lot of work, trying to climb up the corporate ladder. You know what they say, "no pain, no gain"

Count yourself lucky.....there are kids in other countries (China, for example), who go to school everyday. School can be tough, but overall, life is tough. So the more prepared you are, the easier things seem.

It prepares you for all of the assignments you'll get in high school and/or college. It teaches you how to deal with a lot of assignments and how to manage your time.

Teachers fail at life. It's just practice for whatever you're doing in class and a waste of time. And then you get points off if it's not done.
