Just bought the lip plumper that they sell at Victoria's Secret...i love it. The tingling is a lil annoying, but thats what makes it fun...lol

I was telling co-workers about it; and one of them mentioned that it must have some kind of chemical in it that makes your lips plump.

Does anyone know anything about this?? Is it bad for your lips in the long run??? ...or did they just scare me??

i think that they might have been a little jealous.. no theres nothing wrong with your product.. i use it and i did research on some of the ingredients and it's all okay.. you can go to victoria secert.com and look up some of the things or you can look on the bottle or box and just see what the lip plumper carries in it.. and if you notice it doesn't make your lips bigger, it just makes them feel like it..lol good luck and best wishes..

I'm not sure about the Victoria's Secret lip plumpers, but I use Lip Venom by DuWop, and it has the same tingling effect. Probably both products use some version of cinnamon oil or something like that to cause the tingling. I don't believe that it's at all harmful, just a little irritating to the lips. It's the irritation that causes the temporary plumping, and a slight redness as well.

Most lip plumpers use something that will cause a "reaction" in the lips. Like for instance, Clinique's uses cayenne pepper. Some other lines use things like cinnamon. These types of ingredients will cause the lips to swell. They're not bad for you at all. So no worries

Usually it's something like bee venom that does it, but if you want to use a lip plumper that doesn't use bee venom or harmful chemicals, you can try Arbonne's Prep and Plump, they come in 10 different colors and are botanically based.
