If you aren't very experiencied with programming, you should try a program like GameMaker or RPG Maker.
Both uses an internal language with many features ver useful while creating games.

I concur with the first two. I wrote my first few games in 8088 assembler (1983-1985), because every other language was too slow. Since then, C & C++ have dominated the game world. Also, the days of a programmer being able to write a blockbuster by himself are over. You need programmers, artists, marketers, sound producers, 3D modelers... Of course, you could write games for mobile phones etc; those aren't too involved.

learn programming. If you can master C++, then you'll be on the right track to game programming. You can use a lot of languages to game program, pick one and learn it good.
