My dad let me stay home overnight once when I was 15.

EDIT: If you feel responsible enough, yes.

Not at 13 - you're a child. Then again, it depends how mature you are. By the soundsof things, you and your friend constantly fall out. That's a sign of immaturity.

FYI You probably never forecast a fallout with this friend of yours, but they happen anyway. You say now that you won't fall out with her when the time comes, but how do you know something won't crop up?

It sucks but I think your parents are making a very wise and responsible decision. They'd regret letting you stay home alone if something were to happen to you.

It depends on if they think you are responsible enough. I'm 14 and have been staying home alone since age 11. The question to ask them is if you've given enough proof to show them that they can trust you. For example; sit them down and tell them: Mom Dad, I think its time that you let me show you that I can stay home while you are out of town.-and go from there

Good luck!

I would think it would depend on the kid. I've known 13 year olds more mature and responsible than some 20somethings. But in this case, it is your parent's decision if you are responsible enough, and they don't seem to think so. Just be a good kid, be responsible about chores and things like that and maybe by next time you'll have proven yourself grown up enough.

Nope. With military housing a child has to be 16-17 (forgot exacts) to be allowed to sleep home alone for a night without parents. I think most of their age guidelines are pretty appropriate, so 13 is totally too young. Your grandparent's is the best place for you. You'll be taken care of and your parents won't have to worry about you the whole time.

Unfortunately, it may not be that your parents don't trust you, but they could get into a lot of trouble for letting you stay home overnight because you are 13. Have fun at your grandma's house and make the best of it - I wish I had more time with my grandparents. Trust me, you can never spend too much time with your grandparents - you'll treasure it later.

Okay I'm a parent and sorry, No, I wouldn't let a 13 year old stay alone overnight. Anything could happen that you may not be able to cope with. You've got good sensible parents....honestly....I know it feels like they're being too strict but they're not, trust me.

i'm 15, i think i'm responsible enough to stay home alone, but i have siblings, and that's another story. 13 is a little young to be alone overnight. it's just not a good idea if you ask me.

no my parents would not let me..i'm 13 too! i think that it depends on how responsible you are...i'm very mature (or so i've been told) and i dont think i would want to stay overnight by my selt...it would be so scary i mean who know what can happen... i'm not trying to scare you or anything but i would b afraid that someone would break into my house and do "stuff" to me (if ya know what i mean). i mean there's this one story that now i'm scared to be home alone even at night...and it a true story. if you want to know the story just e-mail me at askme_ne_thing@yahoo.com
