Maybe people who would class themselves as Emo here in Australia are different in America,as my 13 nearly 14 year old and all her friends would class them selves as Emo,and I couldn't ask for a more friendly bunch of friends for my daughter to hang around with. They are all very intelligent, level headed teenagers.I went through a goth stage when I was a teenager, and to me,goth and emo are 2 different types of styles.I mean I haven't come across a goth that walks around with a skate board and doesn't mind playing a little basketball.I mean yes I don't get the eye liner thing that my daughters male friends wear, but why can't men wear it,women can.I don't mind the music that they listen to,I kinda like it.I took my daughter to see Panic at the disco a couple of months ago and I thought that were pretty good.I can't believe that people assume that they run around cutting their wrists.that is one of the most daft things I have heard.People should not assume to presume things like that about people, but any way that's just my opinion.

Uh sorry to burst your bubble, but that IS emo. They cut themselves, blame others for their "miserable" lives, and where those tight *** jeans that I personally don't find attractive at all. Not only that, they are only trying to be "different" from society, but they need to wake up and face reality. Just as much as I would love to be "free" and live a care-free life like they do, the truth is we all have to work, go to school, just like everybody else in this world...unless we want to struggle in life. Don't get me wrong, there are times when things get streessful and I want to give up all together, but I don't. I'm not one to judge, maybe you're right and some of these "emos" are not that bad, but I don't know. You asked for my opinion and that's what I gave you.

I think they need to take some Prozac, seek counseling, and get over it! There is enough depression in the world without people doing it just for attention!

i have mixed opinions of them. i suppose that when i was in high school i would have been considered emo, except for the whole writing poetry thing. i just don't understand how emo has become such a huge fad, now it's supposedly cool to be not cool or something. i dunno. they've just given a stupid new name for a type of people who've been around for decades. wearing black eyeliner and having your hair in your face is nothing original.

Emos are wannabe gothics, I hate both goths, and Emos. Most of them say, "i'm depressed b/c my grandfather died..." SOO??? Who cares?? All of our grandfathers' have died!! DUH!!! It's dumbass, and yes, you aren't emo if you don't cut your wrists.

When your emo, you cut your wrists, hardly eat, and you listen to sh*tty music.

Oh, and btw, emo was invented as an insult. If I were you I wouldn't go around saying I'm emo...duh.

They're one step better than goths. That's all I have to say without using profanity.
