I don't know
maybe because at the time the media showed a lot of Black people being effected by Katrina, they got it in their head that it's only a Black issue (and therefor only Blacks would talk about it)
but looking at your original question what I wonder is why so many people brought up OJ Simpson. Unless he blow up the levies it just made no sense.

The combination of that idea plus the name "tru-voice" mark you as l.t.b.b. (likely to be black) in most peoples eyes. It is true about the rich and how society is structured so that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. However, it is also true that there are two Americas, one for the white and the one for the black and that the deck is stacked against black America in a lot of different ways. So yes, poor people need to unite..but more than that they need to compete. What difference does it make if poor people unite but don't better themselves? If you get the trailer park and the ghetto together all you have is a big Jerry Springer episode.
Poor people of all colors need to fight for self improvement, education and excellence instead of obsessing about who is persecuting them. Its a tough approach but life is tough in this world. Then if they hold on to their values they can go back and help others do the same.

Race shouldn't play a part in anything, but I think we all look differently at muslims when we're boarding a plane, especially if they are looking around suspiciously (okay, maybe everyone doesn't, but many do). It is the same with the katrina thing, because so many black politicians, citizens and media personalities pointed fingers, people are more likely to think that way.

I've had enough of that stupid theory about levees blown up to kill off the blacks in the lower 9th Ward; the people who drowned in their attics in St. Bernard Parish were mostly poor and middle-class white; the people who drowned in their attics in Lakeview were rich and white. All the levees failed across the entire region. Do you even live here? Stop spreading that Spike Lee garbage about levees being blown up.

Touche'- I watched comic relief a few days ago and I could not believe the continued disarray of New Orleans-it is tragic, but the travesty is the fact that our government is closing its eyes to the pain and suffering the good people of New Orleans are still enduring- one comedian stated that if Bush would take JUST ONE DAY OFF OF THE WAR IN IRAQ AND SPEND THAT MONEY ON NEW ORLEANS- NEW ORLEANS WOULD BE CLEANED UP AND READY TO GO!!! This a pathetic scenario no matter how you look at it--- I'm with you bro.........

Thank you, some people are so closed minded. They think everything is a black white issue, enough already it's 2006 almost 2007 and we still have some ignorant people in this world.

NO...but then you are not likely to listen. You have undoubtedly been brainwashed by someone since you are spouting off absurd conspiracies. Why do you think that anyone cares enough to even kill a bunch of poor people in the middle of no where? Bizarre.
