To answer you question it would change instantly by how much depends on how much that event effected things that happened after it. For example if you flip a coin just for the sake of doing it, then years later go back and dont flip the coin chances are nothing will change. However if you flipped the coin to decided weather or not to buy a lottery ticket and won, then went back and changed then things may change a lot or again not much depending on what you did with the money. Once its changed though the only person that could unchange it would be you, because no one else would know you went back in time.
I believe time travel and traveling back to the past and future is possible, but under one condition. The person that invents it must do so for the sole purpose of inventing it. From birth that person must have one reason, to invent time travel because if you were to try and invent time travel, with the purpose of going back in time to change something you would never invent it as the purpose would not exist once you had gone back. Paradox anyone :D

Going back in time and changing history would cause a paradox, which is when you get another timeline running concurrently with the original this is bad time and time collide and meld with each other and the hole fabric of the universe is destroyed so there fore no existense no invention!!!!!

If the bad guys go back in time and stop the girl getting rich, then in the future shes not rich so the bad guys have nothing to go back in time for, so if they don't go back in time the girl is rich but if they do go back in time and stop the girl getting rich again, then in the future shes not rich so the bad guys have nothing to go back in time for.
So basically you can't change time.

It is questions of this sort that made Einstein not believe in time travel to the past. Current consesus is that travel to future is possible (because time slows for very fast travellers); but going back to the past is not possible.

I don't think this question can be answered because we can't travel back in time. It reminds me of the paradox about a man that travels back in time and kills his gradfather. So he should never be concieved in the future. So what happens to him? The question doesn't have an answer.
