Old Fidel is not looking too good. What you should do, in Croydon or wherever you are, is start a local Cuban Marxist party, hold some rallies (not the car type) declaim loudly with hand gestures, design a snazzy uniform for your followers, grow a long beard, smoke muchos macho cigars, and try to get noticed by the Cuban authorities. You could be well in there.

Cuba, being a communist cuntry, is not really open to having people stay for longer than a vacation. You will not be able to just go to Cuba and take a job. Any jobs are for Cubans, unless you have special permission, or work for a company allowed to do business in Cuba.

Go to another island, and hang out there for a couple years. Or, go to Miami, and meet the Cubans there.

Interesting idea! You could probably get in if you can do two things:
1. Prove that you are a passionate communist who wants to be with his comrades
2. Prove that you speak Spanish better than Chinese (that way, "go to China" won't be said).
I am not kidding. This is a cool idea. And I wish you the best of luck. Hey, I'd be a communist for three years to get a chance to live in Cuba for 3 years. This will be an absolutely unique experience no one else on earth will have.
