Don't try fixing anything that runs on gas. You need proper training to ensure you don't start your house on fire or cause an explosion. Call a repairman with a gas ticket. In fact, if it's a Kenmore call Sears...they usually have a great line up of repair people.

It's most probably the heating element, an easy enough fix if you're even slightly handy. It's too much detail to go into here but there are plenty of videos on youtube. You may be able to find a video for you exact model but if not don't be too concerned as many models are close enough to get you thru it. Also if you had it replaced only 2 years ago, chances are the vent from the back of the dryer to the outside of your home is clogged causing the element to overheat and burn out - another ez fix on youtube. Do it yourself and save the money.

There is no pilot on a gas dryer. the dryer use a glow ignitor. There is a small plastic plug on the lower left front of dryer that pops off. pop off plug with a knife and start dryer. you should hear a couple of clicks and see that ignitor glow when running. if there is not a glow, the ignitor is proble bad. best to call sears for service. They will repair and warranty there work.
