Do you think Germany will start World War III ?

WWI: Commonly accepted cause was the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife by Serbian patriot, Gavrilo Princip. Austria-Hungary (German ally) waged war over Serbia. The western allies did not tolerate the agression toward Serbia so Germany joined in to protect Austria -Hungary's cause. One conspiracy theory claims that Germany had been itching for a war - especially with Britain, who had political, military, and economic dominance over Europe; that the Kaiser was waiting for any of the western allies to make the "wrong move". WWII: Commonly accepted cause was that severe economic depression and social strife made Germany struggle to gain back the lands and self-respect she lost in WWI by conquering the countries that took them away. Conspiracy theories claim again that the underlying purpose of the WWI Kaiser and the Hitler's 3rd Reich Nazis was the same -- to bring back the glory of the German-led Holy Roman Empire. WWIII: You decide.

Hey I asked this question some months ago, I can't believe someone else has pondered the same thing, cool!

Anyway, here's my thoughts. A world war III would have to include Germany as the agressor, or it would not constitute WW3, it would just be a world wide conflict of a different name. See, and I know you realize this judging by your knowledge of the previous 2 wars, WWI involved Germany and many claim it is at least quite responsible. The treaty afterwards led to the utter humiliation of the German people, causing the rising of Hitler to begin WW2, which was a sequal if I've ever seen one. WW2 would have never happened, and Hitler would have been some art school dropout, had WW1 ended differently. So if there is to be a war named WW3, it must entail some sort of German aggression leading directly from the consequences of European instability since WW2. Anyone who says it will begin because of N Korea or Iran simply does not understand the nature of the previous WW's. Anyway, there is a good possibility that there could be a great and devistating world wide conflict resulting from Iran, N Korea, or some other nation or nations, but it would not belong in the series of the World Wars, and therefore would have to be named something else

If there were to be a WW III, I don't believe that this would be initiated by Germany - I think that WW III would be caused by China invading Taiwan, and this would escalate quickly into a Worldwide conflict. However - in answer to your question - I don't believe the US would "Nuke" Germany, as you put it - The other European powers and the US would form an Alliance, and would probably use tactical Air Strikes against German targets - if that didn't work, then a Ground War would have to be the next option.

Germany is so pacifist that it confines their troops to the least violent sections of Afghanistan. The people are terrified of another war. So, to answer your question, no. It will be Israel, the U.S. (not to be insulting to my country, just realistically speaking), India or Pakistan (nukes in Kashmir), or a fanatic Muslim country such as Syria.
