i would not suggest breeding rabbits 2 show as you can get some breeders who will harm your rabbit ta get them disqualified if they think the rabbit is a threat ta theirs winning. ta breed for profit well obviously ya need a male n female preferably of the same breed. do not buy em 2gether as babies as ya will then be breedin bro n sis (eww) best ta buy male n female from dif shops then tryin introducin em 2gether and see how they get in. best ta keep em seperate thou till u want female preg as female will never get any peace and she will get preg as soon as she has delivered and that not fair on her or the newborns as she will reject them or the next litter. wen ya wanna get female preg put them both into a run 2gether n keep an eye on them ta make sure they dnt fight. wen male dun his business put him bk in his cage. female shud hav babies 30 ta 31 days l8r and best left 5 ta 6 mnths between each mating (once babies hav come away from ehr at approx 12 weeks of age. so as u can see ya need loads of rabbits havin babies ta make a profit.

Please don't! As someone who volunteers with rabbits at my local animal shelter, I can tell you that there are already way too many unwanted rabbits in the world. The world absolutely does not need another rabbit breeder. And selling rabbits you've raised as a small breeder is not as easy as you might think.

Please read the bood "Stories Rabbits Tell," to understand why rabbits are sensitive, intelligent creatures that should be cherished as family pets and not raised for showing and/or selling. (Unlike dogs and cats, as prey animals, rabbits do not have the right type of physiology and temperment for showing. Just for starters, rabbits frighten easily when outside of a familiar environment and don't do well in cars for the most part.) Even if you don't agree with my reasons why breeding and showing isn't kind to rabbits, the book, "Stories Rabbits Tell," also relates stories about how many people get into breeding rabbits because they think it will be a great, easy way to raise money, but they most often get stuck with a lot of rabbits that keep making more rabbits, very few of which they can sell.

I know I won't win "Best Answer" for this, but I have to speak my conscience on this issue.

Register the rabbit that you choose to be bred, and make sure the mate you put it with is registered as well. You don't have to have their pedigrees or proof of them being purebred, but this will greatly help you in the show. Then just help and maintain the wellbeing of the babies, choose the ones that best meet the characteristics of that specific breed, and enter into a local show, possibly the spring fair at your areas Fair grounds.

it is not as simply as you may think you cant have just 1 pair of rabbits you may need 2 pairs of rabbits with each coming for a different parent you cages need to be capable of having space to care for the young rabbits because you have to separate the mother with the bunnies from the father and the other rabbits try finding more information on the web
