Due to a coming hard freeze, I had to pick the lemons off my trees. I now have about 4 dozen lemons. What do I do with them? They are very large and sweet.and I WOULD HATE TO WASTE THEM..THANKS!

For short term, Lemons can be stored in water in the refrigerator, for long term, you can freeze the juice. You should not freeze lemons whole.

You can store harvested lemons for as long as 6 weeks + by keeping them in plastic bags in the refridgerator. To avoid further spread of diseases from one lemon to another, you can try to wrap each invidually with a plastic wrap... this will cut down on the transpiration loss and add a few more days/weeks of shelf-life. Most lemons and oranges found in grocery stores are treated with a light-waxy coating to help reduce loss of moisture.

Never heard of a sweet lemon... store them in a cool dry place, or in brown paper bags...
