I'm guessing that if his bail was set that kind of high, he probably should stay in for a while.

Save yourself some money by contacting the legal aid society and discuss this issue with them. They should be able to direct you and provide some help. I hope you have some strong support among your family and community. If your son is in school, hopefully, he has some good teachers who will write or be present during this trial. In a case like this, which is most unfortunate, there is not a lot you can do. If you own your home, you might have to put it up for bail - any property that is owned can be used however, you must know you can loose it if your son decides to skip town. Time might be on your side as far as how long ago the incident happened - but it can all boil down to how 'angry the girl is'. My prayers are with you and your family.

If you don't have money for bail then you'll just have to wait until the judge decides to let him out or the trial is complete. However, it is part of your son's due process right that he have an attorney and the state will be required to provide one for him free of charge if he cannot afford one.

did you try a bail bondsman? and if you don't have the money for an attorney, one will be appointed to him. Or you can get a home equity loan on your house and use the cash. Whatever you do...good luck.
