I already filed the petition online... now how does my husband get the paperwork to respond? We haven't seen each other in almost 3 years... do I mail them, does the court send them, or do I have to deliver them in person???

Get representation from a divorce attorney.
California divorce is: 1 to 5 years married is short term, very limited alimony.
6 to 10 years married is considered long term and you can request alimony for LIFE.
You haven't talked to him in 3 years! Do you really think the conversations with him about the divorce papers and settlement will go well without a mediator??

He needs to be served. Do you have a lawyer or mediator. Usually their office will serve him.
