Actually that number is dependent upon what system you're using. Different systems have different ways of interpreting "one trillion, five hundred thousand". I assume that you're using the USA and modern British short scale in which it is interpreted thus:
Spoken: One trillion, five hundred thousand
Vernacular Numeral: 1,000,000,500,000
Scientific Notation: 1.000,000,5 * 10^12
However, there exists two more systems that I know of. The traditional European long scale, which may be relevant if you live in Europe, goes like this:
Spoken: One trillion, five hundred thousand
Vernacular Numeral: 1,000,000,000,000,500,000
Scientific Notation: 1.000,000,000,000,5 * 10^18
This particular number is the same for both the traditional European long scale and the traditional British long scale, but you're probably not using the traditional British long scale because it's deprecated.

With a pen, pencil smudges. One Trillion is 1x10^12 (a 1 with 12 zeros) then just add 500 000 to it.

ten = 10
one hundred = 100
one thousand = 1,000
ten thousand =10,000
one hundred thousand = 100,000
one million = 1, 000,000
ten million = 10,000,000
one hundred million = 100,000,000
one billion = 1,000,000,000
ten billion = 10,000,000,000
one hundred billion = 100,000,000,000
one trillion = 1,000,000,000,000
THEREFORE, Add the following:
1,000,000,000,000
............. + 500,000
-------------------------
1,000,000,500,000
ANSWER:
