If you cant think of anything do the volcano but most kids think that it is the easy way out of doing it, there for there may be many. Now I did a science fair project on if the Pledge cleaners really do work. It took a lot of time but it was fun. If you want to do that then follow the directions.
1) Find an area in your house/apartment that is eye level and large
2) After finding spot, clean with soap and water.
3) Dry spot
4) Divide area with tape.
5) Wait for one day or so
6) Dust one side with dry dust rag only
7) Dust other with dust rag with Pledge on it
8) After a day or so take pictures under a black light to see how much dust there is
9) Put project together and turn in!

the best science project is a volcano, when i was in school the volcano was alwasy the most awesome. you make a volcano with styrofoam or cardboard, put a graduated cylander in the middle, or a tall cup, put a few tablespoons of baking soda inside and have the child pour a small amount of vinegar inside the cup with red food coloring, and the volcano will erupt with red bubbles. don't use too much baking powderand vinegar, do a few test runs at home, it is the best experiment, a simulated volcanic eruption. have the child put some facts about a volcano on paper near the project. good luck with everything.

Some of the best ones I ever did where research projects on things like pollution. I also did one about yeast and how it makes bread rise. We made bread with and without yeast, as well as explained how the yeast worked.

I did a fun and easy one as a kid involving which breads molded fastest. I got lucky and hit the supermarket the day of their delivery too so all of my bread was "born" on the same day. I put one sample of each bread in the fridge and one in the cupboard and tabulated how long it took for mold to appear. It lends itself easily to making charts of mold growth and preservatives etc.

Coca Cola and mentos is one experiment. Another is the standard child's volcano. Have fun.
