I have this game, and my friends and I have had a lot of fun with it. The components (board, pieces, etc.) are fairly nice, and the game has a lot more depth than the original RISK did. Each player has five different commanders with unique abilities, and you also get command cards with all sorts of special powers. The battlefield includes the oceans and the Moon as well as the usual continents. All this gives you a variety of interesting strategic options each time you play. Do you take over the Moon and then use it as a base of attack to conquer the Earth? Or do you hide out in the undersea colonies and attack along the coasts? Or, you can use one of my favorite strategies by just stockpiling nuclear command cards to nuke the crap out of everyone near the end of the game. If you have an imaginitive group of friends who enjoy wargames, I think that RISK 2210 can be a real blast.

I have played Risk 2210 A.D., and although the game has its fans, I didn't care for it. The game ends after six rounds of play. I found that number arbitrary. Someone else had the lead after five turns and anybody else could have been winning if the game had gone to seven rounds.
To the basic combat system, there are more units, each with its own combat strengths. You can find a healthy number of opinions at www.boardgamegeek.com

I'm a big classic risk fan, never really got into any of the variations, though a few seem interesting i doubt i would play them.
Huzzah for risk, when one man in the vanilla fields of madagascar can survive the onslaught of a horde of 30 infantry, then he is one heck of a shot, or the army is really bad.

Its a cool strategy game, but nothing like Risk.
To win - all you have to do is conquer the moon and go nuclear assault. Death to opponents every time. So in that case - it's not a lot of fun.
