People who are tenants in common do not inherit the property when one of the tenants in common dies. The estate of the deceased person would have to go through probate in order to transfer title from the deceased person to his/her heirs.

Generally speaking, there are no survivorship rights between TIC's. So, it depends on whether the tenant died with or without a valid will.
