Many Christians work at the A.C.L.U. They would love to receive cards and flowers for the holidays. It is so unfortunate that Christians, though, have taken the "Merry Christmas" out of the holidays. It was a Christian, for example, who forced Walmart to eliminate that holiday greeting from it's stores because her pet version of Christianity doesn't allow it. Did you know that the original Christian pilgrims who came to the United States outlawed all celebrations of Christmas as "pagen" for the first 22 years in the New World? Christians are so funny.

This is normally used as a way to punish the ACLU, supposedly for pressuring stores to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." In fact, the ACLU has done nothing in this realm. It's not included in any project they've taken on, and they are more likely to support stores rights to say whatever they want.
Here is the website that provides the corret information regarding ACLU.

What is more, the ACLU is a strong defender of the right of religious organizations and individuals to express their religious beliefs in public. The ACLU works to ensure that people remain free to chose which religious beliefs (or none) they wish to express and that governments, school boards, and legislatures do not become involved in deciding which religious beliefs should be promoted or in spending taxpayer dollars to support religious activities and symbols.

I agree, waste of time; it would have no effect. Although they focus on stuff like gay rights and abortion, there are many christians amongst them. And to those who think they support religious rights, you are partially right, they have done so, especially if it is some far out religion. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone.

Nope, it's a complete waste of time.
This stupid chain letter re-surfaces every year, despite being thoroughly debunked.
Break the chain!
