I play basketball for the ymca. And yesterday I found out who is on my team and guess what I am the only girl. I love basket but when I am the only girl it feels like I have to work twice as hard to prove I'm good. What do you think?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen to me in middle school. You do have to work twice as hard to prove yourself, and act twice as tough to prove you are "man" enough. But in the end, YOU will be the better player for it. It's worth it, if you love the game. Have fun, and don't expect too much playing time the first game or so.

That's ok.. I've seen plenty of YMCA gyms where there is clearly only one girl playing. As long as you do your stuff and train hard, I'm sure you'll be respected for your skills and not for your gender.

Trust me, I know a lot of girls who are pretty good at b-ball.. even have a hard time facing them

don't worry about that.if you are a good shooter try to farther out.that way if you can make those shots most boys will respect you.if feels really good to be respected by boys.i was on a basketball with only 1 other girl but she always ignored me so just try be cool on the court and make good shots and at least try to do awesome moves.if some of the boys are your friends then hang out with them..............

good luck
