Apathetic and gullible!! It appears we are prepared to accept everything the Goverment dishes out. Its about time we got of our backsides and started shouting loud!!! Did you know you probably pay more council tax than Mr Blair? If you live in Hackney, in a normal flat, you'll pay more Council Tax than the Prime Minister, who lives in a luxurious home in central London!
That's true if you live in Haringey, Richmond, Newcastle, Blackpool… - in fact, it's true if you live in any of 175 different council areas up and down the country.
And even if you pay less than Mr Blair - whose annual bill is £1318 - you'll probably still find you pay a higher proportion of your income than the Prime Minister.
Living in Downing Street and earning £183,932 a year (not to mention his wife's income, for her book and her "charitable" speeches!), Blair pays just 0.7 % of his income in Council Tax.
But a pensioner living in Brent, in a band D flat, on an average pension of £13,000 a year pays £1,239 a year - a whopping 9.5% of his income!! Like you say, the list is endless. If we have to pay mile by mile, it will be cheaper to stay at home!! What about those on low incomes, they still have to work. If they have to pay the extra charges, it would probably cripple them financially.
We must also remember, wages are not rising at the same rate as the tax increases.Labours motto........"things can only get better"!! Comedians!!!

Your quite right we love to moan but do nothing about it. And while we do nothing it will continue.
Not too long in the future, the powers that be will say " I can't understand why we have so many homeless people its such a terrible shame. But we are unable to help them without putting up the tax" and we will know it's probably the tax that got them there in the first place. I think they call it catch 22.

We need to get our backbone back and stand up and rebel remember the government is supposed to represent the people not the other way round.
If everyone stuck together and said no to all this tax they would have to back down they can't arrest everyone in the country and failing that revolution maybe not such a bad idea the way things are going...

We bl***y well are thick. Fleeced to death. This one will make you laugh: They want people to start paying to use the roads.
Now, our parents and grandparents have paid fully for all these things and we are paying tax for maintaining them and other indirect taxes like fines, fuel and road taxes. So they must think we are the biggest morons this side of the Milky Way!

The British public are "conditioned" soft and un-organised.
This situation could not happen in France where the people are very conscious of government actions and "go onto the streets" in mass protest. It works and the laws are repealed.
We need a change in public attitude to politicians and government - we pay them and vote for them to carry our actions we want, not what they want.
Democracy - Government of the people by the people - have we got that?
We should demand it!

Its not gullible as what you thinking of the situation, try to ask the law maker to pass that bill in parliamentary whos the author on that, it might be good for fiscal adequacy of the country thats why you can complain on that , the prime minister come and go but that law in tax is still there and it be added as much as members of parliament pass or authored bill in terms of fiscal matters......

We certainly are guilty of that. Ken Livingstone increases the London congestion charge to 8 quid and stretches the are further west and no one cares. At least the french stand up for themselves, I quite often hear of strikes, mass protests and highway barracades
