I have a question: have you ever met anyone who you thought was somewhat unattractive, and after you got to know them, you seen their true beauty because of what a wonderful person they were? True beauty is inside. You can be the most beautiful person on the outside, but if you are ugly on the inside, it will be exposed someday. Must I say....Paris Hilton, Brittney Spears, etc? I met my girlfriend awhile back and she is the most beautiful woman on the face of the planet in my eyes. She is very insecure, but if she were to go bald, gain 200 lbs, lose a limb, and break out in horrible scabs from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet, I would still see her as the most beautiful woman in the world. So, my answer is personal appearance will not affect your feelings IF you truly care about someone.

If I knew someone personally and their appearance changed, I would still feel the same about them. If I got to know someone without seeing them and got to see them for the first time, my feelings might change because I would have already had an expectation of what I thought they looked like

I think I would be less affected by someone I knew/know changing appearance, than meeting someone for the first time who looks different from what I expected.

One of my best friends was overweight, and didn't really ever take care of her appearance. I never cared, until mid high school, and I felt like a terrible person but she came to be such a slob and let her weight get so out of hand, that I felt weird to be with her.And then she started eating my lunch, too. That was weird.
I mean, we are still kind of friends now, but we could never be like cute girls going shopping and trying on cute stuff bc of it. It's a shallow thing, but it really damaged the relationship.

If i already had feelings for someone and something happened that they had no control over then i would carry on loving them regardless. If it was a case that they had simply let themselves go then my respect for them would go and in time the love too.For someone i had never seen i could easily love their personality just as i would a friend but i would have to see the person physically on a face to face level to allow myself to fall in love.

Well there was this guy at school everyone fancied, i saw him a couple of years later and he had put on tons of weight and was going bald. It shocked me a bit, but as everyone liked him for his looks i doubt many people saw his personality anyway. He was a really nice guy though, which is mainly what matters.

The whole basis for a relationship is personality surely!? If you're with someone for looks alone then doesn't that make you shallow?

A person should be judged on their heart and mind not on their apperance. Thats just shallow.

Yes. Although it's shallow, it's human nature.
