How many people are unaware that Oprah didn't actually purchase the cars that "she" gave away on her show, but they were rather donated by the car manufacturer? Also, how many people are still unaware that Oprah did not actually give everyone in her audience $1,000 to make a difference, but the money was actually donated by the Bank of America? This information is readily available, and even Oprah plainly states "courtesy of xxx company". Why are so many people still unaware of this?

Even though Ms. Winfrey herself freely acknowleged that she is not the source of these gifts, the appearance is that she is. In the modern age, frequently appearance is more important than reality.

Well i new all of this, and no she did not give out of her own pocket,but she acknowledges freely that she is not the source of these give away gifts. I was told that she answers all of her e-mail, but i wrote has a letter two years ago asking her if she could help my church buy a bus for our seniors to travel back and forth to church and to other visitor Church's no answer from her staff so i wrote again and again, i just gave up and said well Lord you know best and you know why they never answer my e-mail. But i hear people say she still give a lot of charitable things, But my church must be to small of an organization and maybe you can't write off you taxes on a small church. Really i don't know why she did not help us.

I don't know if people are unaware. But because Oprah herself, is the catalyst behind the contributers, she is still a humanitarian, even if these particular gifts did not come out of her own pocket.

So, would you still take it... He!! yeah u would. Oprah does alot of things especially during the "My Favorite things" shows and also she built a school in Africa for girls... AND she built an entire community in Texas for people who lost their homes due to Hurricane Katrina... Oprah is great!! Stop the HATE!!!

And who really cares? The money was donated, some individuals got new cars and others $1000. I give her credit for getting things done where others only find excuses.

Not only didn`t she give them the cars, they had to pay the tax on them. On her Favourite things show everything is also given by the manufacturers, it`s good advertising for them.

Beats me,......I've had to explain that to several people; explaining the cost of advertising, and donations are expensive free advertising. It's funny how so many think, it comes out of her pocket,......not even close to being the truth.
