Firstly, your gynecologist should have answered that question already. If that didn't happen, someone just "fell of the turnip truck". Proteinuria (detectable protein in the urine) has a wide range of causes that HAVE TO BE explored. Rather than fishing around the Internet for a self diagnosed answer, you MUST force your gynecologist to either do a full work up or refer you to another physician who can and will. Proteinuria can be cause by something as mild as a bit of blood in the vaginal area to infection to something a bit more serious. Share the journey with a competant physician.
