A nice scented candle would be nice for a woman or a picture frame.
For a guy maybe a pack of cool pens.

if it's a girl u gotta lot of options.. anything makeup-y, they have $1 makeup stuff at E.L.F. (www.eyeslipsface.com).... u can find mini nail polishes, facial stuff, etc at target or wal mart. also target has a $1 store section w/ cute christmasy stuff
if it's for either guy or girl, u 'd be safer w/ candies, cookies, toys, games, mini books (barnes & nobles), gift cards.. maybe a burt's bee's kit it can go for boys or girls. good luck :)
