A metaphysician. A student of metaphysics. Metaphysics is a catch-all subject covering many things. When Aristotle's works were organized, a bunch of subjects were thrown together. In libraries of the day they were filed just after physics. Meta Physics simply means "after physics." The name comes simply from where they were shelved. Go figure.
