I have not put my tree up. I have a few snowflakes on the window and some lights on my ceiling which I put up yesterday. I will put some lights up outside in the next few weeks and some more inside decorations! Won't put the tree up till about the 9th or 10th.
My kids finish school at the end of that week and I want to get it up whilst they are still at school otherwise its a nightmare trying to sort out your Christmas tree whilst two kids are running around and pinching the decorations. Less stressful to do it beforehand!!
I don't think there is a time officially to put them up but you are supposed to take them down by twelve days after Christmas. You can leave them up longer if you like.
Free world babe. Do the decorations when you feel ready!!

I'm a gal but when I put one up, it usually goes up Thanksgiving weekend and down the weekend after the New Year.
When you put it up is up to you...there's no set date or time...especially if you use a live tree, you probably don't want to put it up too early lest it speed up the drying process and you end up with a shedding, fire hazard before xmas arrives.
I live in a small apartment now, and all my holiday decorations are stored at a friend's house, so I haven't put up a regular tree the past few years...but I do have a little 1' (one foot) tree I set on a bookcase in my living room.

I put mine up last weekend because I got in the Christmas mood. I have a pre-lit tree and my stupid middle lights aren't working so I have to go buy some multi colored lights for the middle part lol but I have all my ornaments and garland on and my cat is having a ball! =) There isn't really a set time a lot of people do it the day after Thanksgiving, but it is really up to you. I know when I have kids, I plan on doing it during the Thanksgiving day parade....thought that would be a fun family project to do together.

We normally put it up a couple of days after thanksgiving because the next holiday to us is christmas, than we put the lights up on the first of december and leave everything going until either after christmas or on the first of january. I personally dont think it really matters what day you put them up its completely up to the person and the household thats doing it. Good Luck Merry Christmas

If put up to early and the tree is not fresh, That's not good. The way I grew up. We didn't see the tree until Xmass morning. The night before my mom and dad had their friends in and they would put up the tree and help put together the things that came un assembled. They had great times and enjoyed our morning surprise.

Put ours up today - thought we would coincide with first advent calendar window.
Only taking them down matters - last day is the 12th day of Christmas - after that it is bad luck.

usually put the tree up about 2wks to christmas i get annoyed when people put them up in november, but understand that people with young children dont have much choice in putting it up early but at least wait till december.
