Vince Lombardi lived from June 11, 1913- September 3, 1970 was one of the most successful coaches in American football with a record 96-34-6 in the postseason and a 9-1 record in the postseason.He was an offensive coordinator for the Giants in 1954. Later on he coached the Packers from 1959-1967 winning 5 NFL Championships.He retired in 1968 and returned to coach the Redskins in 1969 for only one season. He was introducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and was also honored of having his name on the Superbowl trophy in 1971.

He was the absolutely best coach of his era. His teams were just like him, disciplined, basic & relentless. He gave a whole new definition to being a winner.
