well i'm an adult to but i consider people from their 30s on to be more mature, :))

allright. if you were a prof. and your student would be at the end of her studies, nearing her graduation would you pursue a relationship with her. and you're single, no wife. my guess is yes if it were true love. if not, then it's only a little crush.

thanx

I would make certain that she had graduated before making any kind of move, just to keep it on the up and up

For that I would have to think that there would still be a waiting period. That being at least until after the final marks were posted. Therefore, no one could say that the student's marks were a result of any funny business.

She would also not be able to take any of my classes in the future. Also, it depends on the school's policy. If it stated that I were not allowed to date a student regardless of whether or not she were in any of my classes, then I would wait until she left the university to pursue a relationship with her.

I think that I am old enough to be considered an adult. After graduation, I think it would be fine. How will you know it is true love or a crush unless you try and see what the outcome is. I am a romantic at heart so I wish you the very best. :)

No. It violates ethics and is too risky. For one, the girl could have a crush on the authority she feels in him, not the prof. Second, what if the prof is abusing his authority over her? Third, it is against every university's policy I know and will get the prof fired.

You're right. If he wants to pursue the relationship after graduation then he is serious. If he doesn't, it's just a crush.

If he knows how his student feels about him, (and he does, right?) then the ball is in his court.

You'll just have to wait and see.

No pursuit until after graduation. It is unethical for anyone in authority to pursue someone that is even perceived to be "under" them.

No "being pursued" either. Bill Clinton can attest to the bad things that happen when you give in to that.

Sure. So long as the professor can't get in trouble and the student has completed her neccessary requirements and they are two consenting adults who feel a connection, I see nothing wrong with this at all!

I don' t think a teacher should tread near those waters. There has to be someone other than a student out there who is of interest. It could come back to bite you in the a__!

Since you could lose your job and even your teaching certification for dating a student, I'd wait til the student graduates.

Wait until after graduation - The professor could lose his job.

Way to go professor!! I always dreamed about being a professor so I could sleep with my students.

Gurl, finish your studies first, incase this relationship falls through.
