the car has a 2.5 inch exhaust a 3 inch intake a new distributor a new altinator new plugs new fuel filter under the hood a new fuel filter in the tank new timing belt adjustable cam gear new port and polished head with a 3 angle valve job.it is missing a o2 sensor in the header but it ran fine before replacing head.and sometimes the car idle's up and down up and down between 500 -1500rpms unless i tap the throttle or pull back on the peddle with my foot(then it usually stalls but starts up pressing the gas once or twice) PLEASE HELP i have had this car for 6 years and have invested $$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!more than what is listed but i am no mechanic at all.

the ECU can work fine when you unplug the O2 But when you turn the power off to the ECU it will reset that would be why it ran fine befor the O2 runs the fuel, spark,and timing the O2 has to be in, the speed sensor will not read right for it to send into the ECU make sure the cam gears are set at O"" befor you plug the O2 in and take off the + cable so it can reset. then start the Tune up.

I wonder if the timing is off on the cam shaft? If you are off one notch it could make it do something like this.

I have a small block 1.5 ltre engine, 4 cylinder. I NEVER EVER run it higher than 2500 RPMs! EVER! If you love your car, it'll love you back!! Take care of ALL your babies!

Mike, it sounds like it could be a vacuum leak. Check all you hoses and connections.
