It is totally different for everyone. Some moms get their periods early even though they are nursing exclusively. Some get their periods back soon after starting solids. Others may not have a cycle the entire time they breastfeed. It's one of those "anything is normal" things.
Exclusively breastfeeding on demand and night nursing do seem to help to keep it away longer. You at totally normal to not be menstruating yet at 9.5 weeks.
My kids were all exclusively breastfed until the introduction of solids around 6 months. They all continued to nurse after that while receiving occasional solid meals. My period returned at 10 mos with my first, 9.5 mos with my second and about 16 months with my third.

I've been primarily breastfeeding (usually no more than 10oz formula/d) now for about 14 1/2 weeks and I still haven't gotten a period. But I am not counting on that fact for birth control. We're using protection. I don't want another little one right now!

Well while I breastfed my son I bled for the full 6 weeks and then it was 2 months before I had the first cycle.
Some women never bleed while breastfeeding, just dont forget you can still get pregnant while breastfeeding. LOL. I had to sign a paper stating the Drs told me that.

I didn't have a period until I stopped breastfeeding at 12 months. With my other child I got my period around 10 months. Good luck and congrats on your baby boy.

My daughter is 6 1/2 months old right now. I bled for about 2 months after she was born and I haven't had a period since. I was getting worried too until I spoke to my mom about it.

It took me to stop breastfeeding my 1st completly to get my period again she was 9 months. With my 2nd due to Mirena I havent had a period since it was inserted. I had it inserted at 4 wks post partum.
Are you using birth control? If so then that will either welcome or delay your period.

I didn't get mine for 16 months after I had my son. I stayed home with him and he never took a bottle so I breastfed a lot. It was sure nice not to get it for 2 yrs and 2 months if you figure the pregnancy in.

Both times, I got my period back when my babies were about 11 months old, and were nursing less often.
And I was not at all regular for a long time afterward, even on birth control pills.

Lots of women don't resume menstruation until they stop breast-feeding. You're well within the "normal" range. By the way, don't assume that because you aren't menstruating that you aren't ovulating; unless you are ready to become pregnant again, be sure to use some form of non-hormonal birth control.

I got mine when my baby was 4 months old and I exclusively breastfed. (He is still breastfed and will be a year in December).
My sister got hers when her baby was 2 months old. It just depends. I know some women who went a whole year before resuming-lucky them!!!
I hope this answers your question.
