We are planning on going to Disney World and Epcot next month. We know there are plenty of fun things for kids at Magic Kingdom but what about Epcot. What some fun things for a 3 year old there?

Wow, dizz is the only other one with any sense! EPCOT is not at all boring and people of ALL ages can have an amazing time there. There's plenty of things to entertain a three-year-old. EPCOT's my favorite park!

Here's a list of some attractions he may enjoy...

Soarin' - I'm not sure if he's tall enough (height requirement is 40 inches) but it's a really great ride. If he's tall enough to ride this will probably be one of his favorites. It's one of the most popular attractions. And one of my favorites!

The Seas with Nemo and Friends - This is a new ride that opened almost a month ago. It's slow-moving and it goes through the Living Seas Pavilion by the aquariums. New technology allows images of characters from "Finding Nemo" to be projected at the glass of the tanks making it appear that the characters are swimming with the real fish.

Turtle Talk with Crush - Crush from "Finding Nemo" is on a screem and he actually speaks with the children. It's quite popular.

Journey Into Imagination with Figment - This attraction was created for the little ones. It's another slow-moving ride where you follow this little purple dragon named "Figment." It's a very fun, colorful ride for the children.

Spaceship Earth - The slow-moving ride through the Geosphere (the giant golf ball.) I love this ride. It's educational but still fun for kids who are too young to understand the point. There's a lot of cool Audio-Animatronics that look very life-like. I think he may enjoy it. It's another one of my favorites.

The Living Seas - The aquariums where he can see sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays, and other large fish. There's different stations where you can learn different information. It's so cool! I took a tour there this summer and got to go swimming in the tank with the sharks and other fish, and I loved waving to the little kids on the other side of the glass. Maybe one of the divers will make his day by waving to him.

World Showcase - I'm sure he'd enjoy exploring all the different countries and seeing all the different sites at each. He'd probably enjoy the shows, too, like the acrobats in China or Miyuki, the candy artist in Japan.

Kidcot Fun Stops - Craft areas for children at every Pavilion where they can do things like make masks, color flags from different countries, learn to create origami, etc.

Disney Characters on Holiday - A parade of Disney Characters tours the park in a red double-decker bus.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth - One of the best fireworks/pyrotechnics shows you'll ever see! If he's not too scared of the loud explosions from the fireworks then this will certainly be the highlight of his EPCOT experience.

Trust me, there's plenty for to do for a three-year-old boy. He'll have a great time, as will you. Don't let anyone convince you it'll be boring or uneventful for a young boy.

Hope I could help!

Katlyn above gave you some excellent advice. I'll add my two cents...

Kids love Journey into imagination. After the ride, there are all sorts of hands-on fun things to play with.

He will like spaceship earth. Especially at the end with all the bright dazzling lights and fiber optics.

Universe of Energy is always a good hit with my kids. They like the moving theater. This is a great ride when you're tired of walking. You get to rest your legs for about 45 minutes.

Take him to Canada in World Showcase and take him to circle vision where you get to see a movie of Canada in 360 degrees.

Another excellent ride is the Maelstrom at the Norway pavilion. Depending upon your son's personality, this could scare him a little bit. It's similar to Pirates of the Caribbean.

There is a boat ride in the Mexican pavilion. It's one of the more boring rides in EPCOT but just right for a 3-year old.

Don't miss the fireworks show at 9pm. I think the best views are by the UK pavilion behind the fish and chips bistro.

If you need a break from the park, take a stroll out the back gate and head over to the boardwalk hotel and rent a four person bike. You can then ride all the way around the lagoon checking out the Boardwalk, Beach & Yacht clubs, Dolphin and Swan Hotels.

Have fun. I'm jealous. I'm not going back to Disney World until December 2007.

This is the park that had the least for my three year old to do. we did see the living seas, and Journey Into Imagination with Figment. she spent most of the time playing in the water area up close to the front of the park. i took her in to the big "golf ball" and she cried all the way down. they take you down backwards so im guessing that is what scared her. I am going back with my kids next spring break, we will again go to Epcot, close to the journey into the imagination show there is a place where you can go in and have your picture taken and put into a poster next to your favorite Disney characters, last year i had her picture taken and she was put in a poster next to all the Disney princesses. its laminated and they give you a case to carry it in that is very sturdy. its actually become a great keepsake and i cant wait to have another one made. it was worth the 25 bucks! enjoy your trip.

I know you were looking for fun things, but truly, Epcot is kind of boring and I would not recommend taking a 3 year old there.
The only fun things I recall were all priced above and beyond the entry price.

Good luck

If you do go, be sure to go to EPCOT and MGM BEFORE you go to the magic kingdom, otherwise, the kid will think EPCOT is boring.

Epcot is aimed at older children and adults. There are a few "rides" that might interest him, but even those have information aimed at older people.

I personally would not take him there, but I think you would enjoy it a great deal.
