People judge because they are closed-minded. Good for you for sticking by him, he is likely to encounter lots of prejudice and homophobic people so he needs you! I don't know any gay people myself and am also not a lesbian but I don't have a problem with it. Sexuality is entirely personal and I think people should have the choice to do what they want with theirs.

People are so narrow-minded. I also have a gay brother and he has taught me a lot about acceptance and just loving people the way they are. I honestly think that I would still have the same views even if my brother wasn't gay. I seriously don't know why people feel that it's their responsibility to judge people who are different. I wish I could give you some advice, but the only thing that I can say is keep standing up for what you believe in.

People do that because they are close minded and shallow. One of my best friends is gay and there is nothing wrong with him.
He is one of the nicest, kindest, people I know. You did the right thing by standing beside your brother. There are so many people out there that are close minded, and belive the way they live is the only way people should live. Imagine if no one had thought that dark skin people were the same as light skin people what kind of world would we live in. I really hope one day everyone can see that gay people are the same, it is really unfair because they are born that way, they did not choose to be gay and even if they did there is nothing wrong with it. Keep standing beside your brother, tell him to stay strong because don't matter what people say he is better then abyone who makes fun of him.

Some people are ignorant and closed minded.A lot of people judge others its really sad.I can't tell you how many people I've seen making a big deal out of nothing. As for the sin thing honestly whoever wants to say that is a complete idiot.A real sin is if you kill somebody.Being gay isn't going to hurt anybody.I don't think I will ever see why some people make such a big deal out of other people being gay.

Zero Cool said it best. When people don't agree with something or see something that is different from them, it's all of a sudden their priority--and their business to butt in. I know how you feel, my brother is gay, and we grew up in a small town and it was the same thing. that's how small towns are, it sucks. That's part of life though honey, there's ALWAYS gonna be somebody to bring you down or hurt your feelings. That's part of being a human being living on this earth. But...hopefully you will someday get to a point in your life where you honestly and truly dont give a darn what other people think, say or do to you.

A lack of understanding. The unkown scares people and for many, homosexuality is an unknown. Usually, those who are estreemly judgemental of it have never had a gay aquaintance, relative, or friend so they have no "real" clue as to what they are passing judgement on. This is most popular in small towns... but this kind of "treatment" is everywhere. At least you are level headed and open minded about it... and it is great that your brother has someone like you on his side.
Peace

Because they live their lives minding other peoples business.
I think it is great that you rose above your own towns standard.
Of course your brother did not change.
BTW:Do you have any idea what goes on in their so called straight households?
A lot of stuff they rather have you don't know about.
Why would you even care what little town folk have to say:I could not care less,if I was the talk of the town!:talk is cheap, and you know that. But you wanted to vent your anger and you did.
The most important thing here is:you stick by your brother:good on you.Greetings:Rob.Gay as hell.

i know how it feels i have a few friends that are gay and les and some family, and i live in an island where people really criticize liek evrything and its annoying and sad to see taht reaction from others, because we have that experience we think differently and we know that because they are homosexuals it does not mean they are worst of a person than they would be not being homosexual, so just dont pay attention to what people say about it, ignore them, is not worth it to wory abt others judgements, take it easy and enjoy life, forget abt everyone else's opinion you will never be happy if you think abt what others say....

Someone close to me whom I love is also gay. That being said, I will always think its wrong to put thing UP your rectum and any medical doctor worth his degree will agree. Doesn't mean I don't love this person though.
People are NOT born gay as they obviously can't procreate and create more gay beings. Are your parents gay? Your grandparents? Where's the gay gene? If people are born with deviant behaviours, does this excuse pedophiles as they also claim to be born that way?
If you think gay people don't affect society...do you not watch the news or read the papers?

People judge because they're sterotyping. I don't beleive anyone is born gay, I think its something they inherited by outside circumstances beyond there control. No one is perfect, As long as he doesn't indulge in homosexuality then its not a sin.
