I just found out I'm pregnant and don't have a doctor yet, I've had a horrible pain in my back for a dayor two now and it's getting to where it hurts to sit or even lay down. I'm at work right now and we have Ibuprofen 200 mg and Acetaminophen(Non-asprin) 500mg is either of these okay to take. I'm in so much pain. I was hoping on not taking anything but I can't stand it anymore. Help me please!!

How far along are you? I believe that you are allowed to take regular Tylenol after 6weeks of pregnancy. Also, if this is your 1st pregnancy, the pain in your back is probably from the growing uterus and what I would try if I was you, is getting on all fours, take a few deep breaths to release and arch your back up( like a cat kinda) and than let your back down so it is sorta in the share of a half pipe. that will get the weight of your uterus off your back and hopefully release some of the pain.

Take the acetaminophen for now. Is it muscle pain? If so when you get home you can take some Benadryl. Benadryl has just a little bit of a muscle relaxer in it & should help, it is ok to take it my doc told me to take it when I was 6 months pregnant & having muscle pains. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

My doctor told me that tylenol is the safest. But you should always ask a doctor before taking anything. The Acetaminophen is a generic tylenol.

Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is probably okay but read the bottle carefully and I would HIGHLY reccomend getting a doctor quickly before putting your baby at risk.

My doctor told me that 1000 mg of acetaminophen is fine. Take that and get an appointment as soon as possible.

My doctor told me the ONLY pain medicine that is ok to take is Tylenol. Try that and some Bengay. That's ok too, I asked. Good Luck! Make an appt ASAP, cause prenatal care is important.

I was told there's only two that have specifically been tested as being safe. I can't remember the names of the two medications but one is for morning sickness and one is to prevent pneumonia. Play it safe, don't take any medication (or smoke or drink) during a pregnancy.

Tylenol (Generic name is Acetaminophen) is ok.

Also, I highly suggest you start taking prenatal vitamins now.
